Riders Welfare

Bideford BMX Community Amateur Sports Club has a fundamental commitment to safeguard and protect children in cycling. We are working to improve polices, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience of children and young people in cycling. Allegations of poor practice, drug use, equality issues and possible child abuse should be reported to the Club Welfare Officer (CWO)

Parents and riders are encouraged to read the following:

  • Youth & Parent code of conduct here & the British Cycling Code here
  • Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy Statement here

Anyone wishing to join British Cycling can do so by following this link. Under 16’s are eligible for FREE Bronze British Cycling membership.

Bideford BMX Club are working to have committee members and coaches Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked to ensure their suitability for working with young people and also undertake Sports Coach UK approved Safeguarding and Protecting Children Courses. Additionally the Club has its own welfare officer who can be contacted if you have any queries or concerns –  see our contact us page for info
